Running on the treadmill, earbuds attached, I was listening to my playlist when the song “Hall of Fame” by The Script began to play. I love that song! They capture exactly what it means to BE INSPIRED  (oh, and just in case members of The Script are reading my blog right now, you guys put on an awesome concert! A girl can dream…)

My favorite line from song says, “You’re never gonna know if you never even try…

I was inspired to do something I never thought I’d do. Let me explain. Pioneer woman I am not. First of all, I do not like being up early. The only time I see a sunrise is if I am forced! Secondly, the thought of spending over five hours to make homemade bread is worse than going to the dentist! I mean seriously, how does one woman do all that?

Last year, however, I made a pioneer-like decision. I pulled my son out of school half-way through the year and homeschooled him. I’m talking full-time, where I provided specialized curriculum, homeschool. If you had asked me a couple of years ago if I thought I would ever homeschool, the answer would be a resounding, “No Way! Are you kidding me?” (with great emphasis on the rolling of the eyes).

But I was inspired to make a difference in the life of my child. It’s painful to watch your child struggle. Many of you know exactly what I’m talking about. Homeschooling him that year was the best decision I ever made! And, while I was homeschooling, I was inspired to finish my novel and start a blog. That’s how it all began.

Think about your favorite charity and the impact it has made in your community. If the founder had said it was too hard or too big of a dream to achieve, think how many lives would have missed out on a blessing. Whatever inspires you, don’t let fear hold you back!

What inspiration have been putting off for months or even years? What are you telling yourself you don’t have time for?

BE INSPIRED. We can achieve amazing things! We will never know until we try…
